My mom 82 yr. old has recently been turned down by this company. she is staying in a nursing home. She was also turned down for speciality hospital needs. Surgically site bleeding out. Shes on a blood thinner Xanalto you have heard of it, all over the tv. Shes getting blood transfusions 3 in last month 1/2. 6 ambulance transfer to hospital last month 1/2. This company has continuously represented to anyone billing then for my services that they are my secondary insurer - despite me not having any other insurer and having spent hours on the phone with them to correct this mistake multiple times! The result is in constantly sent outrageous medical bills for things clearly covered under the policy and must waste time trying to set the record straight. Returning Customer, been with Coventry 3 years I just spent 2 hours 40 minutes on the phone with the second agent, after complaining to manage, both who I could barley understand with a Spanish accent. get some ENGLISH speaking people with no accent to service people. agent had wrong NAME spelling, Plan number wrong, what a mess. I am 64 disabled on RSDI disability, I have a bullet lodged in my spine at T11, I have Medicare, too but because of ignorant policies I am being forced out, my own choice, reason is they refuse to authorize a lidocaine pain patch?? I called Coventry to ask someone to either mail out or email me an reimbursement form. I decided to have her email it to me so that it would be quicker. I gave the woman my email address. Many hours later, I notice that the woman didn't email it. I am so mad at her! I ended up having to waste time googling and trying to find a reimbursement form. My Coventry health Ins. premium is $1380.00 a month, as an independent policy for my husband & I. We had a $5,000. deductible per person. I met my deductible, early in the beginning of the 2015 fiscal year in just annual check ups and tests, then monthly prescriptions. My husband and I have the same problem with Coventry we paid our premiums on time they took money out of my bank account each month, my husband had some procedures done, we had prescriptions filled that was approved by Coventry now months later we are getting letters from the providers that we have to paid for the procedures because our insurance request the payments back because our insurance was terminated, no one from Coventry or the... Just had the same experience with my special 80 year old mother. Coventry puts profit over the care of patients. She needed acute rehab in the hospital. Coventry denied it and then denied it on appeal. Then today they make her move to a skilled nursing facility because they do not want to pay the cost of keeping her in the hospital. I was told today by a Coventry reviewer today that her medical director "did not like approving patient's for acute rehab". This was regarding someone who was completely independent prior to having a stroke. I mentioned to this Coventry reviewer that this was a benefit that was offered to this patient under Medicare as Coventry is a Medicare provider. She said that the patient was "85 years old" which I assume meant that although they offer... Read more
